Registration is now open for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) 2023 Nationwide Move for the Badge, one of three Police Weekend 2023 events.
Participants will be showing their support for law enforcement while staying active walking, running, biking, dancing or anything else that gets you moving from Sept. 1-30.
The event raises funds to honor fallen officers, tell the story of American law enforcement, and make it safer for those who serve by supporting the NLEOMF, the National Law Enforcement Museum and special programs.
Individuals may register to participate or create a team of family members, friends, colleagues or fellow runners from across the country, all while raising money to support NLEOMF’s programs and services. All participants will receive a free Move for the Badge tee shirt, medal and bib. They can also win special NLEOMF prizes in recognition of their fundraising efforts. Move for the Badge culminates, with prize winner announced on Sept. 30.
Police Weekend is scheduled Friday Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1 in Washington DC beginning with the Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception at the National Law Enforcement Museum on Sept. 29.
NLEOMF will recognize and award individuals and agencies who have created programs that save officer lives, who have gone above and beyond their call of duty, and who have made a significant impact on the law enforcement community. Awards include: 2022-2023 Officers of the Month, 2023 Destination Zero Officer Safety and Wellness Awards and 2023 Ambassador Impact Award.
